Troubleshooting Tips and Part # Information

To access settings in the Watlow EZ ZONE Temperature Controller, the first step is to press and hold the Up and Down arrow keys (▲ | ▼), simultaneously, for six seconds until the controller says "A1 SEt".  If this doesn't work, try the following:

Possible Cause: Controller has lock-out setting to prevent all parameters from being changed except temperature set-point.  It's likely this lock-out setting is engaged.

Solution: Press and hold the Infinity Button (∞) and the Green Button for six seconds until you see "CUSt FCty" on the display.

Then, press ▼ until you see "LoC FCty"

Press the Green Button - "3 LoC.o" - change the "3" to a "2"

Press the Green Button - "2 rLoC" - change the "2" to a "5"

Press the Green Button - "2 SLoC" - change the "2" to a "5"

Press the Infinity Button (∞) two (2) times to return to the Main Screen.  You should now be able to access the setting screens by pressing the (▲ | ▼), simultaneously, for six seconds.

After you have made your desired setting changes, repeat the above process to return the "2,5,5" settings you made above to "3,2,2," to relock the controller.

Possible Cause: Heating Element wires may be loose or element is burned out.

Check connections at temperature controller. If both are tight, disconnect and check for continuity across heat element wires.

Solution: If no continuity, replace Heater Harness Assembly.

Possible Cause: Temperature controller may be broken.

Solution: Refer to Temperature controller manual and replace if necessary.

Possible Cause: Thermocouple wires are loose or broken. Check thermocouple wires at temperature controller. Make sure connections are tight. If they are and "E-7" error still appears, detach wires from temperature controller and check for continuity across thermocouple wires.

Solution: If no continuity, replace thermocouple (i.e. Heater Harness Assembly.)
